The Material

One Plant.

Endless Possibility.

Coir is the natural fibre found inside a coconut husk. It's naturally salt-resistant, moisture-wicking, durable, and fully biodegradable. Through generations of craftsmanship, this overlooked by-product is transformed into a high-performance material that protects landscapes while returning safely to nature.

1

Harvest & Ret

Fresh coconut husks are collected and soaked in backwaters for several weeks. This natural retting process softens the fibres and prepares them for extraction.

2

Beat, Comb & Spin

The fibres are separated, cleaned, and combed before being hand-spun into strong coir yarn by skilled artisans using traditional techniques.

3

Weave into Protection

The finished yarn is woven into durable erosion-control blankets that stabilize soil, retain moisture, encourage vegetation growth, and naturally biodegrade after completing their purpose.

Coir Fabric — Net Type Weave

Built to hold the ground,

then let it go.

A 700 GSM natural coir geotextile used for slope stabilisation, erosion control, and land restoration. It outperforms synthetic geotextiles on the one measure that matters most to environmental projects: it disappears when the job is done.

Composition

The people

We honor the makers as much

as the material.

Coir spinning in Kerala is largely the work of women, seated at the ratt the traditional hand-operated spinning wheel — drawing fibre into yarn with a skill passed down through generations.

Mallika works directly with coir artisan cooperatives in Alappuzha district. No subcontractors. No middlemen. Fair wages, consistent order volumes, long-term relationships.
